FLL Mock Season

After the students are introduced to the concept of mission based robotics design they are introduced to an actual FIRST Lego League field from past FLL season.

A Simpler Challenge

Students start the semester working with a simplified field. They learn the basics of building and programming a robot through a hands on approach. Their first challenge is to design and build a sound and stable drive base, followed by basic attachments to accomplish tasks such as push, pull, grab, and drop. They are exposed to the Lego Digital Designer Virtual Building Software tool for efficient use of design progress. Students go on to learn how to program intelligently using calculations to figure out how far the robot can travel in a given number of rotations.

Small teams of students collaborate to present their final robot design to an audience of peers and parents.

Teams showcase their robots and missions accomplished to parents to mark the end of the base challenge. Post this students move onto a full FIRST Lego League field.
Presentation skills are an integral part of our program.

A robot is only as smart as its programming and the students take this to heart by implementing mathematics in an attempt to get fool proof results.
